Stefan
Brundage
Classically trained, queer artist in US & UK
ABOUT
Stef grew up in Niagara Falls, NY within the one of a kind Buffalo Theatre community. Out of high school, they attended Niagara County Community College, getting an Associate’s Degree in Theatre Arts. An invaluable experience before transitioning into adulthood. NCCC and all the artists in Buffalo will forever hold a piece of Stef’s heart. Stefan often visits Buffalo and works with other artists in Western New York.
In their early 20s, Stefan went on to get their Bachelors Degree in Performance at SUNY New Paltz in the Hudson Valley, while also studying and performing in New York City. It was then that they really started to fall in love with poetry, classical theatre, voice work, and Shakespeare. They went on to study with Shakespeare & Company in the Berkshires, the Celebration Barn Theatre, the Linklater Center, Susan Hart, the dear late Jeffrey Carlson, and privately with Louis Colaianni for several years.
Stef has performed Off-Off Broadway in Manhattan and spent time after college gigging and growing their craft across the United States. They made a home in the glorious city of Chicago. There they found a new love for physical theatre, circus, and aerial arts.
Stefan is a graduate Pro-Trainer of the Actors Gymnasium where they majored in Clown and Lyra, and still trains regularly at Aloft and the Brass Ring.
In a leap of faith in the summer of 2022, Stefan chose to get their Masters Degree in Classical Theatre at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. While at LAMDA, they spent over a year exploring Europe before coming back to Chicago in the winter of 2023.
Stefan is also a writer whose work has been produced across the United States. Their solo show texts have been showcased with the Chicago Dramatists, their ensemble short plays have been produced at several colleges and theatre festivals throughout the east coast and Midwest, and have been commissioned on a team by All State Insurance for live industrials in Western New York.
As a teaching artist, Stefan has taught Voice, Shakespeare, and Acting at the International Performing Arts Academy, D’Amico Music in Western New York, Chicago Performing Arts, LAMDA, and several other organizations for shorter engagements.
